She’s gentle when you work with Her… Childlike even. But She can also feel like a bevy of blades slicing through you if you deny Her. And you deny Her when you deny yourself of the truth. When you live in denial of a toxic ego pattern or you become complacent of your continuous evolution… the Kali (in you) can only endure it for so long. She will bring you to breaking point over and over again until you learn Her lesson. Until you stop denying Her Will to slice off a part of you that is already dead. If you deny Her it feels like She’s killing you, but She’s only trying to clean you.
She comes to destroy the world, your world but only the broken part of it.
She brings the death of the ego as the illusory self-centered view of reality. Nowhere in the Hindu stories is she seen killing anything but demons. But we love our demons…cling to them, suckle them…that is, until She helps us to let them go. We then find ourselves in Her sacred place, the burial grounds of our own soul. Who am I without this person, this pattern, this system?
Well, why don’t you let Her slice it off and you’ll see exactly who you are.
Standing there in the ash pile of an old self, She will have transformed you into the phoenix. She has the power to destroy the world, returning it to the dark void, a place of no time and no form. But this is just one part of Her, because as the Dark Mother Goddess she is the vehicle for New Creation.
She is your loving destroyer and also your rebirth. She is the root of you. The authentic inner child deep within who continues to insist on living a life of freedom and joy. She will behead the parts of the ego who steal this from Her.
Trust Her, even when it hurts.
Let Her lead.
