The birth of jesus is pagan

The birth of Jesus coincides with the pagan Winter Solstice because he is a figurative representation of this higher, eternal light of the Sun. The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year & Pagans venerate it because it heralds the ‘Return of the Sun’.

After 3 days of darkness or ‘death’ (as the sun has stopped), on the 25th of Dec the Sun moves & is effectively born again (in the Northern Hemisphere) The days will start to become increasingly longer. More light will flood onto the planet germinating the seeds in the soil & our own creative endeavours. A natural process of slowing down in the winter, and allowing the pieces of the puzzle we have gathered since the New Year (vernal equinox) at the beginning of Aries Season, to fall into place.

The everlasting source of light and life, the Christ or ‘Sonlight’ brings new creative inspiration. Culminating in sprouts of personal plans & inner growth during Spring time & coming to full fruition during next year’s Summer Solstice.

If God had a language, a way of reaching us, would it not be in the Sun, the Stars, the Plants, the Animals? God is as simple and accessible as Nature. This is what the ancient and indigenous pagans understood. We can connect to the seasonal shifts in our environment and experience how this translates in the bones of our body, psyche and spirit. The bio-rhythms of our planetary cosmic Mother is the ever-present and visceral language of God. To synch into this inner rhythm is the highest form of worship and clearest path to self-liberation.

God is not complicated theology wrapped up in the life of some prophet who lived thousands of years ago. God is this flower in your hand, this unctuous scent of Jasmine rushing up your nose. God is in the mirror looking back at you each morning. This glorious, messy life is only possible because of the Sun. There is no man, prophet or master who is as sure and life giving as the Sun.

Perhaps because it shines on us each day without a single demand we have forgotten it is miraculous. Our star is the closet thing we have to understanding God. All powerful. All life giving. Eternal. As sure as the Sun rises, is my surety in God.
